Charity entries for the Great South Run

The following charities have a limited amount of guaranteed running places for the Great South Run, these are usually allocated on a first come first served basis.

Many charity running places include extras such as a running vest, fundraising packs and hospitality or massage after the race. So if you are looking for an entry to the Great South Run why not contact them and help raise money for charity at the same time.

Don't leave this until the last minute though as most charity running places are filled very quickly. Good luck running the Great South Run and have fun.

  • AUTISM HAMPSHIRE

    Autism Hampshire, great South Run at Portsmouth

    Autism Hampshire gives direct support to people with autism all over Hampshire, they are looking for volunteers to join their team of runners in this year's Great South Run. So if you are thinking about taking part then why not sign up and raise some much needed money and awareness to help support children, families and individuals to cope with the affects autism in your local area.

    The race is designed for all abilities and has a fantastic atmosphere with live music to keep you going to the finish line. You never know, you may see yourself on Channel 5 which will be providing live coverage on the day!

    Join our team. Be Unstoppable.
    Take part in the BUPA Great South Run and help raise money for life saving research into blood cancers. The team here at Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research will support you before, during and after your big day. As soon as you've signed up, we will be in touch to ensure you get the most out of your challenge. We support all of our runners with a fundraising pack with sponsor forms, a fundraising guide, your Unstoppable wristband and many other useful hints and tips. We will stay in touch as you build up to your big day and can help you with training guides and of course you'll get one of our bright yellow breathable t-shirts made by Adidas.     Meningitis UK charity places in the Great South Run

    Meningitis UK is looking for fantastic people to join our Meningitis Musketeers Team for this year's Great South Run! Full support will be given and everyone who participates will receive a free running vest or T-shirt, and a handy information pack including hints and tips on how to prepare for the event in Portsmouth. Anyone who has already secured an independent place can choose to run for Meningitis UK and we would love for participants to become part of our Meningitis Musketeers team.

    Meningitis UK has a single focus - to find a vaccine to wipe out all forms of meningitis. Tragically, meningitis and meningococcal septicemia continue to affect thousands of people in the UK every year and kill more children under five than any other infectious disease. Our Search 4 A Vaccine Campaign aims to raise £7 million to fund research into stamp out all forms of meningitis and associated diseases. Everyone who runs for Meningitis UK will be part of the Meningitis Musketeers team, with the motto 'All 4 One and One 4 All' - to highlight the devastating fact that meningitis can kill in under four hours and the importance of our Search 4 A Vaccine Campaign.

    Stroke Association is urging Southerners to "Act FAST" and sign up for a Gold Bond place in the BUPA Great South Run.
    Alessandra Arnott from Stroke Association said: "By signing up to Bupa Great South Run, you will have the chance to join one of the biggest events of the year, enjoy a festival atmosphere with live music and entertainment and improve your fitness at the same time. You will also pledge to raise money to help provide vital support to one in six of us who will have a stroke."

    Wetwheels Solent Charity, Great South Run, Portsmouth

    Run for Barrier-Free Boating and join the Wetwheels Solent team!

    Wetwheels Solent provide active, inclusive powerboat adventures that are open to all disabled people in our community - even people with profound, multiple and severe conditions or impairments who are often excluded from outdoor leisure activities. By joining the Wetwheels Solent team, you will help ensure all disabled people are able to access the Blue Health benefits of time spent on the open sea, including increased confidence, improved physical and mental wellbeing, and broadened horizons.

    Wetwheels Solent has entries available for the 2022 Great South Run. All they ask for is a £20 registration fee and a fundraising target of £150. They're also interested in hearing from runners who already have their own place.
