General Practitioners (GP's) Doctors Surgeries in Portsmouth
The following list displays the details of Portsmouth GP Surgeries, doctors, health centres and other medical practioners in the Portsmouth and Southsea areas.
In the Portsmouth area there are thirteen GP practices, each a member of the NHS Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the main commissioner (buyer) of health services in Portsmouth. The boundaries of the Portsmouth CCG are the same as the City Council.
Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) were created following the Health and Social Care Act in 2012, and replaced primary care trusts on 1st April 2013.
As local authorities are responsible for public health, CCGs work closely with them through health and wellbeing boards. They work together to achieve the best possible outcomes for the local community by developing a joint needs assessment and strategy for improving public health.
